Meet the team

Andrew Lewer MBE
President
Andrew Lewer MBE was recently a Member of Parliament for Northampton South. He was first elected in June 2017 and is the only person in Britain to have served as an MP, an MEP and a Council Leader.

He was a member of the Levelling Up/Housing and the Education Select Committees.
Andrew is a Vice-President of the Local Government Association and received his MBE in 2014 for his services as Leader of Derbyshire County Council from 2009 to 2013.
Tom is a seasoned entrepreneur with a talent for inspiring even the most determined skeptic, be they a client, employee or friend, to believe we can achieve something together. He is the CEO of the remarkable renewable energy company Syntech Biofuel, specialising in waste-to-energy solutions.
Tom’s primary driver is that he is passionate about reducing carbon, to utilise ways to enable the world to exist sustainably by reducing harmful greenhouse gases by working with businesses to make that happen.
Andrew is a highly experienced political, business and local government leader. In 1997 he established the Enterprise Forum and has been Chairman ever since – the Forum brings together Senior Policy Makers and business leaders.
The Forum celebrates its 27th anniversary this year and regularly holds meetings with Government Ministers. Andrew hosts annual events with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the backbench 1922 Committee.

Lauren Edwards MP
Director
Lauren Edwards is the Labour MP for Rochester and Strood. Prior to becoming an MP she was Cabinet Member for Economic and Social Regeneration and Inward Investment in the Labour and Co-operative administration on Medway Council. She is also a councillor for Rochester East and Warren Wood.
Lauren sits on the boards of outside bodies focused on regional economic regeneration, such as the Kent and Medway Business Fund, the Kent and Medway Economic Partnership and the Kent and Medway Employment Taskforce.

Robert Hart
Director
Robert is a dynamic and results driven executive with a proven track record of optimising operational development and efficiency whilst providing the leadership to drive strategic growth.
Robert is recognised for his leadership acumen, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and spearheading initiatives that propel him towards new heights of success.

James Turgoose
Director
James has particular specialism in the energy, transport and local government sectors. He has almost two decades of experience working in and around Westminster and provides strategic public affairs advice.
James works with a range of businesses of all sizes helping them to navigate the political and policy landscape. He has helped to establish a number of trade and membership bodies including the Urban Mobility Partnership and Institution of Mechanical Engineers

Georgia O’lone
Scientific Adviser
With an extensive scientific background in the field of sustainable biofuel, Georgia’s role is driven by perfection. As Head of Science, quality control and production data are key metrics which she meticulously monitors daily with her team at her onsite technology-led biofuel testing laboratory.
Georgia has implemented many initiatives to improve biofuel workflow processes in order to maximise and maintain production excellence.
